101111 -- Dampit Dampit Dampit!
Oct. 11th, 2011 10:04 pmI got out my new toy today -- a Dampit!
I threw my old one away in the move -- I'm 150% percent of it, as I was 150% sure I wouldn't be playing the violin for a long long LONG time and wouldn't really need it. I was a cocky bitch. So dampit all day, dampit all night, dampit dampit dampit. Gotta love it.
When I went to Sam Ash yesterday, I also got a book of Kreutzer finger exercises, which are the devil but I hope practicing them will help me get back to where I once was. I had a book of those, but I'm not going to have my parents digging throughout my music books to find one. It was expensive, though. I was like, "why won't God let me keep my day job?" (Not that bad -- like eighteen bucks.) And along with it I got this piece:
Because I really really stinking wanna play something.
I'm glad I have my violin. I'd be playing more piano, but I don't really have one to practice on; I have the 530, sure, but it's not the same. The 530 is fine for music writing and pop music, but I need a full weighted piano if I'm gonna break out the classical stuff.
WHY AM I DOING THIS
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH
Maybe I'm just glad I have my violin. Maybe I had a lot of fun playing on Friday. And maybe I'm just peeved when someone (not saying who) said, "It's nice to have something you can do outside of work, like a hobby." For some reason, that peeves me, and comments like that never did before.
Huh.
Well, dampit.
