2015's End Of Year Review

Is it there -- is it right there?
Right in front of you? Right in front of you!
This is what you've been waiting for for a long, long time.
Make it real, make it right now -- make it right now!
You've gotta live it now...

1. What did you do in 2016 that you'd never done before?:
Got broken up with by a girl. That was fun (not). I quit a job! Which also sucked. I moved three times in three months. I went to Cedar Point on July 4th. This may be up to you guys to think of, because I'm a little stumped.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Well, I got the hell outta Dodge, so there's that! My resolution this year is just to stick to my plans.

3. Where did you ring in 2015?
Holy crap, where DID I ring in 2016? Oh, yeah! In Tamsin's room, and then we threw a massive rando party and danced all night long.

4. What date from 2016 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?:
July 4th.

5. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?:
I was 28, and I worked and Tamsin took me out for a drink afterward.

6. What was your status by Valentines Day?
Taken. Sorta.

7. Were you in school (anytime this year)?
No. Working on that, tho.

8. How did you earn your keep?
Equinox, second job, and third job at the end of the year.

9. Did you suffer illness or injury?:
Nope, yay.

10. What one thing made your year immeasurably more satisfying?:
Kissing good bye to starving in NYC. I still want to find a way to kind of sort of go back, but not to the starving thing.

11. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?:
I can never answer this one well; can't really think of anything.

12. What political issue stirred you the most?:
Can we just not? I started caring too much and it wasn't good for me, so now I'm back down to apathy. Though that will change shortly if the world decides it's going to pot.

13. Where did most of your money go?:
Rent. Moving. The same amount of money goes to rent now but I get to keep more of it because I make more and less taxes? So that's kind of nice.

14. What was your favorite TV program?:
Aikatsu before it ended, and surprisingly Yuri!!! On Ice. It gives my rainbow colored heart lots of hope.

15. What was your favorite film of this year?:
Manchester By The Sea.

16. What was the best book you read?:
...I don't think I read any books this year AGAIN. I needed to buy books but then moving got in the way, and now I'm waiting for the holidays to settle down so I can go MASS SPEND MONEY ON BOOKS AND THINGS.

17. What was your greatest musical discovery?:
Remember all those connections I mentioned in 2015? Well, I'm using them :)

18. Did anyone close to you give birth?:
I'm sure I'll forget whomever it is. Seems like everybody on Facebook has kids.

19. Did anyone close to you die?:
I don't think anybody close to me died. But there was a lot of death this year.

20. What countries -- ahem, states -- did you visit?:
Lots of Ohio. It wasn't very interesting. Although I did go to Philly and Hershey -- that's a first, should have probably put that at the top.

21. What was your biggest achievement of the year?:
Being aware that something isn't working for me and moving on from it -- even though it's really hard to do so.

22. What was your biggest failure?:
NYC isn't considered a failure, so sit down. I enjoyed every moment of it thoroughly, thank you.

23. Compared to this time last year, are you…
i. thinner or fatter?: probably about the same

ii. richer or poorer?: I guess I'm richer :P

24. What do you wish you'd done more of?:
Playing music.

25. What do you wish you'd done less of?:
Working and stressing about work.

26. How will you be spending Christmas next December?:
With family.

27. Did you fall in love in 2016?
More with myself than anything.

28. How many one-night stands?:
Donut.

29. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?:
Actually, surprisingly, yeah. And I know I have to get over it. It's going to take time, though, time that I haven't had as of yet. That'll be a project for this winter.

30. What did you get really, really, really excited about?:
Going to Cedar Point for July 4th.

31. What did you want and get?:
Out of Dodge.

32. What did you want and not get?:
Honesty.

33. What was your best month?
July, though this month has been good too!

34. What would you like to have in 2017 that you lacked in 2016?:
Perseverance. Friends who are local and who want to hang out. A Platinum Pass!

35. How would you rate this year with a scale from 1 (shitty) to 10 (excellent)?
It's been surprisingly good, compared to everybody else's years. I guess you'd look at it and say it sucked, but it was just a lot of change. So a 6 or 7.

36. What's something you learned about yourself in 2016?
If I really want something, I'll go for it. And that it's important to trust other people, which is something I'm really bad at XD

37. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2016?:
I branched out a bit and added in some dresses and what not.

38. What kept you sane?:
Cedar Point. I can't get that image out of my mind, my dad on the midway with his hat on and with his phone in his hand, taping me on Top Thrill Dragster. I doubt he'll ever know what that means to me.

39. Who did you miss?:
The girl who left me, more than she will ever know.

40. Who was the best new person you met?:
A beautiful, beautiful soul who will continue to inspire my music for years to come.

41. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2016.
People are worthy of my trust, and I am worthy of their trust as well.

42. What song will always remind you of 2016?:
Obviously "Candyman" by Aloe Blac and Zedd, which is the song of the year. But also, "Dream Ballon" by the Dream Academy girls in Aikatsu, and Ride My Time by Moony, are the two songs that will remind me of July 4th. Oh, and also, "Lincoln Avenue" by Train, because I'm evil to myself.

43. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
"Riding on the rhythm of hearts that beat as one
This looks like forever and we've only just begun"

44. What Quotes sum up the year?:

"Every day – your job, the government, your addiction, your depression, your money – you feel like you can’t control the forces affecting your fate. So, you stage microrevolts. You customize your ringtone, you paint your room, you collect stamps. You choose.
Choices, even small ones, can hold back the crushing weight of helplessness, but you can’t stop there. You must fight back your behavior and learn to fail with pride. Failing often is the only way to ever get the things you want out of life. Besides death, your destiny is not inescapable.
You are not so smart, but you are smarter than dogs and rats. Don’t give in yet."

"And I won't blame you but I'm finally ready to show you that I'm ready to show you
I'm ready to show you, yeah
I'll tell myself that I never needed anybody anyway -- but anyway, I need you
I need you now
I need you now
I'm ready now..."
